Beads-n-Blessings

Art with Heart is a beading for charity competition where 10% of the proceeds of all kits sold will go to various charities including The American Heart Association, Make A Wish Foundation, National Breast Cancer Foundation, St. Jude’s Research and the American Diabetes Association.  All donations will be made in the name of Beads-N-Blessings and all our sponsors.  With a little help from all of us we can make a difference.

                                  Why Art with Heart

Thinking of all the things going on in the world today and wanting to help out, with the blessings of a lot of my beading friends and family, I came up with an idea to help those in need...Art with Heart, Beading for Charity.  Because I wanted to include my beading friends, I created a competition on the Beading Daily Forum for names. Art with Heart was chosen out of many names because it incorporated most what I wanted to do.  The winner was Moira McEvoy who is a jewelry designer with so much talent and has competed and won.  Her latest design appeared in Bead Star in 2009.  For more about Moira, go to the "Our Featured" section of the "Updates" page.

In all my discussions on forums with fellow beaders, from the beginners to the experienced, I found that many have entered contests but have felt frustrated and intimidated by the types of pieces that were chosen as winners and feeling that they would never win.  In their interests, I decided to combine our love of making that “everyday” piece, to those artistic pieces and helping those in need.  Art with Heart was created for that purpose.  I wanted a contest that not only defined the type of jewelry that I make and wear, but that also included the many different types of beaders who string or weave or wire wrap to those who loom.  I envisioned seeing these pieces being worn by everyday people but made with a purpose. 

Upon completion of your piece, email us 2 or 3 pictures of your piece.  Please attach your pictures as .jpeg files.  Include in your email a little bit about yourself and your inspiration for the piece.  Please include your name, address, email address as well as websites where you can be contacted by potential buyers and send it to lgomez@beads-n-blessings.com.
